DHS hack

This is a serious hack that happened in 2016 and led to the theft of personal information of 9000 employees of the Department of Homeland Security and 20000 officers working with the FBI. The personal information stolen included full names, job titles, email addresses, and current phone numbers. Even more alarming is that the social engineering attack was carried out directly on an IT support officer, a person whose rank serves the role of protecting other employees from this and similar types of attacks. In an expression of his might, the hacker that did this contacted a news website named Motherboard to explain how he managed to hack the department of justice.
