A Few Words on Challenge

We’ve covered a lot of ground in this chapter. The game still needs polish, but we now have enemies and platforms with which to populate our level. As you develop your game, remember to test and iterate constantly, especially with the fiddly bits that some of these elements have (e.g., waypoint positions, speed, damage).

Keep in mind the difficulty of the level in the context of the overall game and build toward that. Is this an early level in a hard-core platformer or a late level in a moderately challenging one? Levels should become increasingly challenging as they progress, but you have to remember how difficult the overall game is meant to be.
