Up until this point, we have dealt with Autodesk® 3ds Max® software’s default lighting to view our models. However, adding our own custom lighting will greatly improve the look of our overall scene. Great lighting is the difference between making something look believable and having it look cheesy. In this Lesson we will talk about the different types of lights available in 3ds Max 2010 and how to use them together to get nice results. We will discuss rendered lighting versus real-time lighting. We will then build on all this by using some basic render effects before getting into detail on rendering in our next lesson.
