9 Truth and Lies
LET ME SEGUE A BIT HERE and talk about this idea of the lie, which is a very important concept to have in mind as we pursue our goals.
The lie tends to be a very slippery concept, highly dependent on our acuity, our perceptiveness, and our integrity. My views on truth and lies have been framed through the work of Wilfred Bion (1977), who is responsible for the title of this book and also for the fact that I'm writing it at all, because the adage "learning from experience" became a kind of mantra for me as I took deep breaths and tried, in spite of my terror, to trust what seemed to me to be true.
