Sometimes photos don’t come out as well as you hoped. The image is too dark, or too light, or the people have red eyes. Most photo management software includes basic editing features to help you deal with these problems, as well as visual effects that can be applied to change photos in fun and interesting ways. Wouldn’t it be nice if PhotoWheel could do that too? Well, it will by the end of this chapter: Enter Core Image.
In this chapter we’ll use Core Image to add these features and more. We’ll explore creating filters to create visual effects and to automatically enhance photos. We’ll also see how Core Image can locate faces in a picture.
