Chapter 10. Power Apps Deployment
Once you finish developing your Power Apps-based application, you need to transport that app and its related components to other environments, either for testing or live usage. Microsoft uses the Solution table in Dataverse to consolidate your components in one place. Once your solution is ready, you can deploy the changes to the target environments using a variety of deployment options.
In Chapter 6, you learned about creating a solution prior to embarking on the creation of components for designing a business application in Dataverse. This chapter delves further into additional features of the solution, exploring how it is used for deployment.
Power Apps Solutions
A solution is a container that holds all the components (as shown in Figure 10-1) that you use to customize your application, except for the data. The components held in the solution are collectively called solution components. You can have multiple solutions in your environment based upon your business needs. Some organizations prefer to have a common solution to keep all types of components, whereas some prefer to keep different solutions for different types of customization. For example, they might have one solution for plug-ins, one for app configurations (forms, views, columns, dashboards, etc.), one for security-related components, and so on.
