I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Exercise: WriteMore
The following app is a shared writing activity that can be fun with a group of friends. You might have been part of a classroom exercise in which one person starts with a word and then others keep adding their own words or sentences. The story takes on a life of its own, and everyone has a good laugh over how wacky it comes out.
Using shared data, we can create that kind of experience on an Android device. This next app, which we call WriteMore, could function as a fun party game or just as a good way to show off what App Inventor is capable of.
The app uses many of the same principles discussed in this chapter, such as storing and retrieving data from TinyWebDB.
