I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Chapter 3. All about Layers
Layers are one of the most powerful tools we have for editing our images. For those of you who haven't used an editing software with layers, such as Photoshop, it may be a completely new term, so let's take a quick minute to review what a layer is. The best way to think about a layer is like a stack of paper. You can stack pictures on top of pictures to create multi-image collages or to create textures or backgrounds for your images, and the sheets of paper can be opaque or even have cutouts to see completely through them. With a layer you can change the blending, which will affect how you see the layers that are beneath it.
