Lesson 07 | Creating a Basic Floor Plan

This lesson describes how to create a basic floor plan and place building elements in it to start creating a building design. You begin the lesson by learning the steps to create walls in a floor plan. Then, you learn about temporary dimensions and drawing aids. Next, you learn about some recommended practices for placing walls. The lesson concludes with an exercise on adding walls in a floor plan view.

Revit Architecture provides floor plan views in which you develop a building layout by placing elements such as walls, doors, windows, floors, and standalone components. You use dimensions and constraints to control and document the placement of building elements.
