Chapter 6. Moving from Simple XML to HTML
We are about to take our coding skills to the next level. Just as we did when we moved from using the Splunk Web Interface and started creating and editing our Splunk Apps in Simple XML, we increased functionality of what we are providing to our users and were able to provide a cleaner and more polished user interface. Well, this is what we are going to be doing by now, moving from Simple XML to HTML.
By moving our Splunk App to HTML from Simple XML, we allow our code to be enhanced further by accessing specific HTML, CSS, and JavaScript functionality that would not be available to us by only using Simple XML.
