Overview of the Learning Tactics Inventory
The Learning Tactics Inventory (LTI) was developed to provide individuals with a concrete representation of the tactics they most frequently use when they are challenged to learn from a new situation. Other instruments that measure characteristics of learning, such as Kolb’s (1984) Learning Styles Inventory, Wagner and Sternberg’s (1991) Tacit Knowledge Inventory, or the Myers-Briggs Type Inventory (Myers & McCaulley, 1988), measure learning style from the inside out, conceptualizing preferred methods of learning as trait-based or as information-processing strategies.
