Prototyping

Prototypes are an invaluable, core component of the SAM process. They provide an indispensable means of sharing information among key stakeholders and lead to more creative designs. Prototypes are indispensable because no other means provides as much clarity to the proposed design and assures alignment of expectations. If some team members believe they have agreed to design decisions that are different from what others thought they agreed to, project-crippling trouble lies ahead, especially if the difference is discovered after the product is developed. Even slight ambiguities at the beginning can cause serious problems in the final product.
