Writing is an art form. Conveying meaning clearly without feedback from your audience is hard. However, for a software engineer, writing clear prose is often the best way to communicate. Writing is:
  • Asynchronous —You can write a question at 8 a.m. and someone can read it and give you an answer at 5 p.m.

  • Shareable —If knowledge is written, you can share it with others easily.

  • Clarifying —Whether I am documenting for others or for myself, it’s easy for me to say or think something vague or unclear. But when I write it down, the uncertainty or doublethink is easier to detect.
