17.1 INTRODUCTION
Our lives are filled with hazards created by electrical power supply, lasers, chemicals, and a diversity of equipment used in laboratories and classrooms. While studying science and engineering and performing experiments, students will learn to identify hazards and to protect themselves. Students will also learn to take care of their health and safety while working in laboratories. A safer and healthier learning and working environment should be created so that students have the opportunity to live safely and more healthily.
