The Setup

When shooting fashion, lighting the clothing is almost as important as lighting the subject, so I use a really large (53″) softbox. Because of its large size, it not only helps to light the clothing, but it also creates some of the most soft, beautiful light out there. Also, because of its large size, I can usually get away with using just this one light (and if I need to light the background, I just move the light and the subject closer to it).
