THE SETUP
When I know I’m going to remove my subject from the background (to put them on a different one), I use a light gray background because it makes the Photoshop work, and maintaining hair detail, that much easier. I also use two flashes opposite each other, each lighting one side of my subject (the main flash soft, and the back flash harder and more punchy). That way, no matter which side the lighting appears in the new background image I’m going to put my subject on, you’ll see light on that side ...
