Adding Depth And Drama To Your Portraits
Once you grasp the fundamentals of lighting portraits with natural light and then with one flash, the addition of more lights and larger modifiers enables you to push the boundaries of your photography. For instance, with a giant umbrella, you can create a huge patch of soft light. Or with additional speedlights you can create areas of light and shadow with precision in your portraits. The key is to not become obsessed with the accumulation of gear—rather, it is to continue be obsessed with light and learn new ways to craft it with the gear that you have.
