So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Studio Lighting
Much of the lighting that is covered in this book is temporary location lighting: instruments mounted on mobile stands with stingers on location or on a temporary set. However, television studios have permanent light grids with heavy-duty control systems and special HVAC units (heating/ventilation/air conditioning) that provide quiet cooling. Lighting principles remain the same in a studio, but the installation is different.
A studio is a more controllable environment than locations are, so they are essential for more permanent situations. The most common local application is the news set.
