Chapter 10: WEB: Create Browser-Based Photo Galleries
You can use Lightroom’s Web module to create photo galleries for your own Web site and disc-based presentations.
Before you start making a Web gallery, it’s a good idea to do some organizing in Library first. Decide which photos to use and get them sorted into collections in the order you want them to appear in the Web gallery. (It’s usually easier to organize photos in Library before going to the Web module.) With the photos all chosen and sorted, you can then use the controls in the Web module to create the gallery.
You don’t need to know anything about coding to build galleries with the Web module. When you’re done customizing a gallery in the Web module, Lightroom will generate all the required html, css, Flash and images. You can use Lightroom’s built-in ftp service to transfer all the gallery files to your Web site’s hosting server (you will need the ftp account information to do this) or you can export the finished gallery files to your hard drive, where you can view the pages locally using a standard Web browser (and you can upload to a server later if you wish).
