Chapter 14The Node Editor

The Node Editor is a new and extremely powerful tool for texturing and shading in LightWave. Node-based texturing systems have been the standard in the industry for a while and are far superior to layer-based systems like the “classic” Texture Editor, which is restrictive and can be difficult to edit content with. A node is basically a data holder if you will. This data holder can be linked to other data holders forming a network of nodes passing data to each other. This network of nodes is represented on the computer as a flow chart very similar to the schematic view in Layout.
