I talk a lot about the different functions available on LinkedIn, and I hope you’ve started to set aside some time on a regular basis to keep track of various tasks as you build up your profile and network. To manage this new set of tasks most effectively, look around LinkedIn and its growing number of functions.
In this chapter, I shift gears a little and talk about the underpinning of the entire site — your LinkedIn settings. As LinkedIn grows in terms of functionality, you get to decide how you want to interact with LinkedIn and communication, privacy, and site usage features you want to automate. I discuss the majority of options on the Settings & Privacy page, including how you can use them to improve your usage of LinkedIn and your professional life in general.
