Eclipse integrated development environment1
Abstract
This chapter describes the Eclipse Integrated Development Environment. It begins with a brief history and overview of the Eclipse platform, describing plug-ins and the workbench. Following installation, we proceed to the C Development Toolkit. We show how to create a new project and add source code to it, describing in the process various features of the editor that simplify and streamline the task. A practical exercise is presented to aid in gaining experience with these concepts. Finally, we show how the Gnu Debugger, GDB, is integrated with Eclipse to provide a seamless development environment for C and C++ programs.
