Personal postscript

I have always wanted to write a book. I wasn't bothered what sort: biography, fiction, sci-fi, real-life stories, it didn't really matter. I just loved the idea of sitting down alone and translating my thoughts onto a piece of paper. I had never even given any thought as to who would bother to read my words. It was the concept of writing that appealed to me.

I can now recognize that this was the problem. There was no purpose to it. If I didn't know what I would write about, let alone who I would write for, where was the motivation to do anything about it?
