YOU KNOW THE problem: When people in meetings are wrestling with an issue, they often raise numerous options, discuss them at length, and seemingly agree on a solution. Afterward, nothing happens. Why? Because it was not clear what was going to be done, who was going to do it, by what time, and what the follow-up would be. When the snafu is investigated, you’re apt to hear statements like:
