2010s Onwards

This decade was dominated by succession arrangements, for my practices in London and Hong Kong. These proved more complex and difficult than I ever expected. Time will tell if the right decisions were made. But they were not easy. It hasn’t helped that both London and Hong Kong – where our primary offices are based, and where they grew and prospered – are now going through turmoil and change with Brexit affecting one and riots affecting the other. As I write and conclude these memoirs we are also experiencing a global pandemic caused by COVID-19 – the consequences of which are yet to be fully known. It was also the decade to mark the closing of a career, which meant writing my memoirs for the RIBA and deciding on a suitable home ...
