The Link Aggregation Control Protocol
This section outlines the major features of the protocol structure. Virtual links are created, monitored, and updated by means of an exchange of protocol messages.
Link aggregation protocol messages are exchanged across each link segment. They belong to real links rather than virtual links. The source address in each of the frames is the source MAC address of the real port from which it was sent.
