The rise of local authors and content
Abstract:
This chapter reviews the rise of local authors and content in California, looking at statewide endeavors by the California State Library under the leadership of James L. Gillis, and countywide endeavors by local authors/historians such as Margaret Koch, Sandy Lydon, and Stanley D. Stevens, who succeeded in bringing a local community to the world at different periods and levels.
