Shanghai Library: windows to the world
Abstract:
This chapter reviews the history of Shanghai Library, the City of Shanghai and Xujiahui Library, one of the early Jesuit libraries in China. Also examined are Shanghai Library’s attempt to bring the community of Shanghai to the world by hosting the biennial Shanghai International Library Forum, and developing Windows of Shanghai and active partnerships with the publishing world, both internal and external.
