Oslo Public Library: rejuvenated OPAC
Abstract:
This chapter introduces the Pode Project launched in 2008 at OPL, which has become an ongoing project within its Digital Services Department. The project is a big step towards the rejuvenation of the existing online library catalog. It involves conversion of the bibliographic data to RDF and then making it available as Linked Data, so as to ultimately turn the library catalog into an open and flexible API. To date, two prototypes have been completed, namely, the Trip Planner and Music Mash-up.
