Municipal Corporations
Municipal corporations constitute the highest or the top-most form of urban local government. They are created for big cities by the enactments of the state legislatures or of the parliament in case of union territories. They are described in the Encyclopaedia of Social Sciences as purely political institutions created by the legislative power without the necessary consent of the people.
