So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Lighting Grip Equipment
11.1 Basics
Lighting grip refers to any equipment used in lighting which is not electrical. This can mean anything used to support lighting equipment or equipment used to modify the light beam in any way.
Lighting Stands
The basic item of lighting ‘grip’ equipment is the lighting stand. These are available in a variety of sizes and specifications. The important parameters are:
Universal socket 28 mm/16 mm and 16 mm spigot
Extended height
Minimum height
Closed length
Required base diameter
Maximum safe working load (SWL)
Weight of stand
Complete with braked wheels?
Lazy leg (extendable leg)
