Introduction
Selecting and monitoring key performance measurements is an important activity of logistics management. A well-designed performance management system facilitates: (1) monitoring how well the current logistics system is operating compared with targeted goals, and (2) if performance is not meeting the targets, then it provides the impetus to exercise control and, if necessary, implement adjustments to obtain alignment between actual performance and targeted goals.
