Introduction
Part Two of this book examines a wide range of tools and methodologies frequently employed to provide decision support for network design, manufacturing, inventory management, and customer logistics. Although the techniques and illustrative cases discussed focus on the aforementioned functions and their processes, the methodologies reviewed also apply and are commonly utilized in related functional areas (e.g., procurement). In keeping with the general theme of this book, our discussion will emphasize an integrated, cross-functional approach in the decision support tools and cases presented.
