4.2. Overview of Vector Quantization–Based Information Hiding

Since 2000, VQ has been successfully applied to digital image watermarking [2131]. Since 2005, because of the emergence of lossless information hiding, several scholars have been dedicated to lossless information hiding in VQ-compressed images. In the following two subsections, we overview typical methods related to VQ-based watermarking and VQ-based lossless information hiding.
