This chapter tackles your first steps towards getting on air after you’ve set up your nonprofit organization as covered in the previous chapter.
During the Low Power FM application window — more on this important event later in the chapter — nonprofit organizations have the opportunity to apply for empty spaces on the FM band. To get broadcasting, you need to find your spot on the dial! Prior to granting approval for a new station, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) wants assurance that the additional broadcast will not create interference with stations that are already on the air.
