Building your studio is super exciting — you should have a lot of fun as you begin putting together the pieces with which you’ll create your living audio laboratory (in other words, your radio station!). In this chapter you discover what to look for in a physical location, how to select the right gear, and how to put it all together to create a bumpin’ studio atmosphere. Finally, I discuss the importance of making your station headquarters accessible to the community and safe for volunteers, while protecting your hard-earned equipment.
Take your time building your studio; leave it open to growth and development. Keep in mind that technology may change and you want your studio to endure. Spend money on the environment and the lighting. Bring in flowers from time to time, or decorations for the holidays. It is important so set the right mood and create the right vibrations! ...
