Finding Files

Sherlock enables you to search your internal hard disk or other mounted volumes, including CD-ROM, floppy, and networked disks, for files based on a variety of search criteria:

  • File Names enables you to search for files based on all or part of the file name.

  • Contents enables you to search for files based on any part of the document's contents.

  • Custom criteria enables you to search for files based on any combination of criteria, including file name, contents, and other file attributes.

To find files by name

With Sherlock active, choose Find > Find Files (Figure 5), or press to display Sherlock's Files channel (Figure 1).
