Ejecting Disks

When you eject a disk, the disk is physically removed from the disk drive and its icon disappears from the Desktop.

Tip

When the disk's icon disappears from the Desktop, it is said to be unmounted.

To eject a disk

1.
Click the disk's icon once to select it.

Choose Special > Eject (Figure 62), or press . or Choose File > Put Away (Figure 56), or press . or

Drag the disk's icon to the Trash.

When the mouse pointer moves over the Trash icon, it becomes highlighted (Figure 63). Release the mouse button.
