The Dock

The most noticeable feature of the Mac OS X user interface is the Dock, a bar found at the bottom of the screen (by default but it can be moved) that holds application aliases, making it easy to find, start, and switch between your favorite applications (Figure 6.5).

The Dock does the same things the Windows taskbar does but looks better doing it and is more flexible.
