CHAPTER 3Set Up Your Mac OS X Server
In this chapter I discuss how to install Mac OS X Server on your server. I assume that you’re using a Mac—for example, a Mac mini or a Mac Pro—as your server rather than an Xserve. If you’ve bought an Xserve, it will have Mac OS X Server already installed on it, so you can skip this chapter; the same goes if you’ve bought a Mac mini with Mac OS X Server already installed.
This chapter covers the two main methods of installation: Installing from scratch, and upgrading an installation of the client version of Mac OS X to Mac OS X Server.
