16. Managing Your Email with Apple Mail
Mac OS X ships with the Apple Mail application (which I just call Mail from now on), which is an elegant, full-featured, and easy-to-use email client. Mail offers a tidy, straightforward interface, but that surface simplicity hides a wealth of powerful and useful features. Covering all of those features would require a dozen chapters of this size, so I just hit the highlights here. These include configuring the Mail preferences, particularly the all-important task of setting up your email accounts; receiving email and sending your own messages and replies; using mailboxes and rules to organize your email; working with message attachments; and using Mail to follow your favorite RSS feeds.
