33. Securing Your Mac
Your Mac can never be too secure. There are just too many ways that any computer system, including Mac OS X, can be breached.
If that sounds strange, it’s probably because everyone assumes that Macs are super-secure right out of the box. Yes, Macs are secure by default, but they’re not impregnable by any means. Online crackers specialize in breaking into systems (“cracking” system security, hence the name), and at any given time hundreds, perhaps even thousands, of crackers roam cyberspace looking for potential targets. If you’re online right now, the restless and far-seeing eyes of the crackers are bound to find you eventually.
