Chapter 2. Maintaining Your Mac

Computer makers—yes, even Apple!—tell people that computers are easy to use. Granted, Macs are easier to use than computers running any other operating system, but they're still computers, and computers are not devices that you simply turn on and use (the exception here is the iPad, but that's a different animal, since I would argue that it's actually a consumer electronic appliance rather than a traditional computer). You have to administer a computer, and you have to take constant care of it, which means maintainance. In this chapter, I'm going to cover the important maintainance tasks Mac users need to perform.
