Chapter 9. Manipulating and Sharing Pictures

Let me be very clear up front—I'm not a graphics guy. I don't know how to use Photoshop, and more importantly, it's just not a program for which I have a use. I don't even really use the main commercial Photoshop replacements on the Mac, Pixelmator and Acorn (GIMP is free, open source, and available for Macs at http://gimp.lisanet.de, but it's also far more than I need). Oh sure, I have Acorn, and I occasionally open it, but it's usually to perform some very basic task.

So if you're a graphics professional, you're probably not going to get a huge amount out of this chapter. I'm not discouraging you from reading it; I'm just trying to let you know that you're not going to get mad skillz about Photoshop ...
