Beyond browsing various web sites, the second most common use for the Internet is sending and receiving e-mail. To help you create and receive e-mail, OS X comes with a program called Mail.
Besides letting you send and receive text messages, e-mail also lets you send and receive files. This gives you a simple way to share files between two different computers as long as both computers can open that file.
