Preface

The analysis and design of machine elements and machines is the backbone of BE/BTech courses in mechanical, production, industrial, automobile, aerospace, automation and professional engineering. The objective of the course on machine design is to synergize forces, moments, torques, and stress and strength information in order to develop the ability to analyze, design and/or select machine elements with attention to safety, reliability, and societal and fiscal aspects.
