It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Creating Text Style
HOW TO CREATE A NEW TEXT STYLE
To create a new text style choose Format 
Text style or use the Style command when the Text Style dialog box opens, as shown in Fig. A1.1. This dialog box enables you to control different parameters of the text to create your own text style. The steps to be followed are mentioned below.
Name In order to name the new text style, click the New button and open the New Text Style dialog box as shown in Fig. A1.2. Type the name of the new style in the Style Name text box and click OK. AutoCAD will return you to the Text Style box to define the other parameters of the text style.
