11Internet of Drone Things: A New Age Invention

Abstract

The Internet of Drones (IoD) has attracted the major commercial sector by its technological advancements and utility functions and capabilities. It is a layered network that is designed mainly for unnamed aerial vehicles, which are used in a controlled airspace. It provides various kinds of navigation services and several drone applications. There are a lot of applications related to drones technology, like food delivery and packaging systems, search and rescue operations, traffic surveillance systems, home and office security systems, etc. The IoD architecture concepts and features can be implemented in the practical world and can be beneficial in a lot of ways. With a lot of applications come the security issues in Internet of Drones Things (IoDT) systems also. The following chapter introduces the IoD technology at an advanced level along with its architecture, features, application areas, and the security issues regarding the system. The chapter will help in getting detailed information regarding the IoD systems.
