Abstract

We will briefly revisit classical project management approaches in the oil and gas sector before giving a brief introduction of agile and scrum. It will be made clear how these approaches differ and why scrum might be the better choice when applied to machine learning and data science projects.The scrum framework with its most relevant components will be explained briefly using a real world example, while stressing the importance of management and change culture while executing these machine learning projects.
