Abstract

Skin lesions are an important health issue. Various techniques are applied to segment the skin lesion area from images. This chapter presents a skin lesion segmentation approach based on the elitist-Jaya optimization algorithm. The proposed method consists of two stages: image preprocessing and edge detection.
